SECTION 002000 – NOTICE TO BIDDERS
A. Coal City Community Unit School District #1 (hereinafter referred to as the Owner) will
receive bids for the following project until 11:00 AM, local time, on April 4, 2023 at the
District Office, 550 S. Carbon Hill Road, Coal City, IL 60416.

B. Bids will be publicly opened and read at 11:05 AM at location noted above.
C. Contract Documents may be obtained by Bidding Contractors from Cordogan Clark &
Associates, Inc., on their online plan room www.cordoganclarkplanroom.com on or after,
March 16, 2023. Bidders may also contact Vesco Reprographics, Inc., www.vescorepro.com
1351 Aucutt Road, Montgomery, IL 60538, 630-896-2115, to obtain the bid documents.
D. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of Bid Bond in the amount of
10% of the Base Bid (plus additive alternates) made payable to the Owner.
E. A pre-bid conference will be held at the following specified location on March 21, 2023 at
9:00 AM at Coal City High School front entrance, 655 W. Division Street, Coal City, IL
60416. See Specification Section 002513 for further information.
F. All bidders are required to visit the site. A site visit will follow the pre-bid meeting. The
project site will be available during regular school hours by appointment only. The project
site is available for inspection on a limited basis.
G. The Contractor shall pay, if applicable, not less than the prevailing rate of wages as
established, to all laborers, workmen and mechanics in the performance of Work under this
Contract in accordance with “An Act regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other
employed under contracts of Public Works.” 820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.
H. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in bidding,
or accept the bid that, in his opinion, will serve his best interests.
I. This Notice is written in the name of the Owner by Cordogan, Clark & Associates.
1.1 PREBID MEETING
A. Architect will conduct a Prebid meeting as indicated below:
1. Meeting Date: March 21, 2023.
2. Meeting Time: 9:00 a.m., local time.
3. The meeting will be conducted at the front entrance Coal City High School, 655 W.
Division Street, Coal City, IL, with a site visit immediately afterwards.
1. Prime Bidders: Attendance at Prebid meeting is recommended.
2. Subcontractors: Attendance at Prebid meeting is recommended.
3. Notice: Bids will only be accepted from prime bidders represented on Prebid Meeting
C. Bidder Questions: Submit written questions to be addressed at Prebid meeting minimum of two
business days prior to meeting.
D. Agenda: Prebid meeting agenda will include review of topics that may affect proper preparation
and submittal of bids, including the following:

E. Minutes: Entity responsible for conducting meeting will record and distribute meeting minutes
to attendees. Minutes of meeting are issued as Available Information and do not constitute a
modification to the Procurement and Contracting Documents. Modifications to the Procurement
and Contracting Documents are issued by written Addendum only.

2. List of Plan holders: Minutes will include list of plan holders.
